Trinity (ex-Hole In the Wall), Borough
FancyaPint?'s review...
Greene King belatedly got in on the act of smartening up its old boozers and some of the earlier refurbishments we know just didn't quite work, comparing unfavourably to rivals M&B. Thankfully, the Trinity gets things a bit better. It's certainly contemporary here now, but there's a nice cosy section the back, whilst the walls are either covered in attractive Chinese-style bird-related wallpaper, or painted wood panelling. The front is a little less welcoming, but the overall effect is pleasing enough. Service is spot on and the trio of ales better than the average Greene King IPA you usually see. Food doesn't over extend itself, giving a selection of good pubby food at reasonable prices; this isn't a gastropub, despite appearances. Overall, a commendable effort and while we can think of several better pubs in Borough, The Trinity, when relatively quiet, is a handy place to meet friends before moving on.

This is a brilliant pub for a 'way home from work' drink or two during the week, that isn't bursting at the seams with city types. Its lively, does great food, the decor is cool and not the same as every other pub thats trying to look individual - it actually is. The staff are always relaxed and happy, which makes a massive difference to the atmosphere, also, the quiz on Monday nights is fun and doesn't drag on until closing time! Love this pub !
